Reinvigorate your floors.
Flake flooring creates a fantastic decorative look with a high gloss finish while also covering those ugly stains, marks and chips.
When installed properly by a Kleenit flooring expert, flake flooring creates a very hard wearing, scratch resistant, easily cleanable surface that is chemical resistant, impervious to stains, and will last for many years to come. Unlike other ‘liquid-resistant’ surfaces such as vinyl, flake flooring has no joins, offering a seamless application.
How we install flake flooring.
Installing an epoxy flake floor can radically transform the look of your floor. It involves the application of epoxy paints, and broadcasting vinyl chips to create a highly decorative finish.
1. Preparation
The concrete must first be prepared correctly to ensure proper penetration and bonding of the epoxy paints. This step is absolutely crucial and cannot be short-cut, or the quality and longevity of the finished floor may be seriously compromised.
2. Applying primer/sealer coat
Epoxy primer/sealer is applied that ensures an effective bond with the concrete is achieved.
3. Applying Epoxy Coat
A coat of two-pack tinted epoxy paint is then applied on top of the primer coat. The two products bond together.
4. Flake broadcasting
Coloured flakes are broadcast onto the epoxy layer to create the decorative flake effect
5. Polyurethane clear top coat
Two coats of a clear, two-pack polyurethane paint are applied to give a high gloss, hard wearing, scratch-resistant finish.
